Allstate Sugar Bowl 2014: Alabama vs. Oklahoma game preview, odds and prediction

As the final year of the BCS moves on, Thursday brings us the Allstate Sugar Bowl between two of the more traditional names in college football, the Alabama Crimson Tide of the Southeastern Conference and the Oklahoma Sooners of the Big 12 Conference.

Alabama had their hopes of playing for a third consecutive national title dashed by the Auburn Tigers in that miracle game in Jordan-Hare Stadium back in November, but were still able to finish the season at 11-1. Led by AJ McCarron–and of course, head coach Nick Saban–the Tide are going to look to take some of the anger out on the Sooners inside the Superdome.

Oklahoma comes in at 10-2 on the season, and seriously helped their BCS cause by defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys to end the regular season. Aside from getting blown off the field by the eventual conference champion Baylor Bears, their one other blemish on the year was another blowout, but it was to the rival Texas Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry game.
