Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva suffered a gruesome injury on Dec. 28, when Chris Weidman perfectly checked a leg kick. Silva immediately went down in pain with a broken left tibia and fibula and needed to undergo surgery.
Now, four days after surgery, Silva is already able to make his way around with a smile on his face.
Sure, Silva is on crutches and will need three to six months before he is able to fully resume training, but the fact that he is in good spirits is a positive sign for how he will handle his recovery.
Silva shared a photo of himself with his family following surgery on Twitter:
I want to say thank you to all my fans and friends to support me at this moment,I wish a great and happy 2014 to all pic.twitter.com/nzhmvoNSca

We would like to wish Silva a full and speedy road to recovery as he fights his way back to the octagon.
