Will they or won’t they? That’s the question being asked in regards to the Los Angeles Dodgers trading star outfielder, Matt Kemp.
A healthy Kemp is understandably untradeable, but with a salary worth more than the gross product of a third world country and injuries that would make the boardgame Operation blush, Kemp’s name has surfaced in trade rumors in recent months.
Regardless, the MVP candidate has remained on the Dodgers roster through free agency but that could change come Spring Training as the Boston Globe expects Kemp’s name to come up more frequently as he returns to health:
The Dodgers may still deal one of them (Carl Crawford, Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier) before the start of the season. As teams see where Kemp’s rehab is after shoulder and ankle surgeries, that could heat up in spring training.
Los Angeles simply isn’t going to give Kemp away, so the team may struggle to find middle ground with an interested team considering they’ll be looking to snag Kemp at bargain prices.
Regardless, looks like it should be an interesting few months for the Dodgers front office.
