Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic left the Magic’s 94-81 loss to the Golden State Warriors on New Year’s Eve after rolling his ankle.
Vucevic has already missed time because of a prior ankle injury and both Vucevic and the Magic feared he could miss an extended period of time this time around.
However, that does not appear to be the case.
Vucevic made the trip to Cleveland with the Magic and could play when the Magic take on the Cavaliers Thursday night.
“At first, I thought it would be a pretty bad one, the way it was hurting,” Vucevic told Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel. “But, then, I guess all the treatment we did, all the icing and stuff — I spent New Year’s icing it — it was worth it. When I woke up in the morning, I was kind of hesitant to step on it to see how it feels, but it felt pretty good. It was painful, but not as bad as I thought it would be.
“We’ll just see tonight. I’ll try to give it a try pregame. Hopefully, I’ll be good to go.”
Vucevic is averaging 13.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 blocks per game this season.
