On Saturday afternoon, the Towson Tigers will be looking to complete their impressive run through the NCAA FCS playoffs by knocking off the powerhouse North Dakota State University Bison. Towson is led by a strong rushing attack thanks to star running back Terrance West and an experience offensive line, but it appears that this game will be their last hurrah.
With many of the Towson offensive linemen graduating after the season, West is preparing to take his game to the pros and forgo his final year of eligibility to declare for the 2014 NFL Draft. An announcement will be made following the FCS Championship Game.
FanSided.com has been able to confirm the news, which was originally reported by Campus SportsNet.
This season, West set FCS records in both rushing yards (2,410) and touchdowns (41). Capping off his collegiate career with a national title would just be the icing on the cake.
While many may knock West for playing against lesser competition, he has consistently been dominant and showcased his skills against some impressive teams over the past few seasons including a LSU defensive just one year ago.
West holds a rare combination of size, speed and strength, so he adds another intriguing prospect to the 2014 running back class.
By the time the draft rolls around, look for West to be a mid-round pick.
