Friday night, we’re treated to a match up in the AT&T Cotton Bowl between the Southeastern Conference East Division Champion Missouri Tigers and the Oklahoma State Cowboys of the Big 12 Conference.
After a horrible first year in the SEC in 2012, head coach Gary Pinkel and the Tigers turned everything around and came within one game of being the SEC Champions and competing for the BCS National Championship. However, all things considered, I’m more than certain that they’ll take this trip to the Cotton Bowl as a consolation prize. Led by QB James Franklin, Mizzou has one of the more dynamic offensive units in the country.
Oklahoma State was also very close to becoming conference champs in the Big 12, but a loss to the rival Oklahoma Sooners in the last week of the regular season ended those hopes. Still, the Cowboys finished the year at 10-2 on the season, including a huge blowout win over the Big 12 champion Baylor Bears in prime time on national TV.
