2014 Discover Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. Ohio State game preview, odds and prediction

On Friday, the Ohio State Buckeyes of the Big Ten Conference will square off against the Clemson Tigers of the Atlantic Coast Conference in the 2014 Discover Orange Bowl.

The Buckeyes come into Miami at 12-1 on the season, having suffered their lone loss in the Big Ten Championship Game to the Michigan State Spartans, thus ending their hopes to travel to Pasadena to compete for the national title. Still, this is a very tough team with a gritty defense and a dynamic offense, led by QB Braxton Miller and running back Carlos Hyde.

Clemson comes in at 10-2 on the season and making their second trip to this game in the last three years. Against the Buckeyes, they’ll be looking to exorcise the demons of their last trip which resulted in a 70-33 shellacking at the hands of West Virginia. Most of the players from that 2011 team such as QB Tajh Boyd and WR Sammy Watkins are still with the program, so they’ll be looking to erase that memory on Friday.
