2014 NFL Draft: Marqise Lee leaving USC Trojans for NFL

USC Trojans wide receiver Marqise Lee is entering the 2014 NFL draft after a standout career with the Trojans that saw him win the 2012 Biletnikoff Award given to the nation’s top receiver and a fourth place finish in the Heisman trophy.

The only real surprise is that he didn’t announce his decision to declare immediately after USC defeated Fresno State in the Las Vegas Bowl when he had seven receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

Lee is a surefire bet to be a first round pick and should be among the first two or three receivers taken in the draft after Clemson’s Sammy Watkins who is expected to declare for the draft after the Orange Bowl.

Lee had a sensational sophomore season with Matt Barkley at quarterback in 2012 when he had 118 receptions for 1,721 yards and 14 touchdowns, but he battled through nagging injuries and poor quarterback play for much of his junior season when he finished with 57 catches for 791 yards and four touchdowns.
