Al Golden: Miami Hurricanes coach to meet with Penn State 'as early as today'

Al Golden has been mentioned in connection with the opening at Penn State where he was a tight end and later an assistant coach and now Joe Schad is reporting he will meet with the Nittany Lions to discuss the possibility of coming home.

Golden is coming off his third season with the Miami Hurricanes, which was his best at the helm of the ‘Canes as they finished with nine wins but los tin the Russell Athletic Bowl to Louisville.

He has a 49-49 career record with stops at Temple and Miami and is 0-2 in bowl games.

Penn State reportedly has Golden, James Franklin and former player Mike Munchak as their top three candidates to fill the position left by Bill O’Brien who left to take the head coaching job with the Houston Texans
