Nathan Horton made his season debut for the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, and he sure did make his presence known.
With his first goal of the season, Horton was able to help the Blue jackets beat the Phoenix Coyotes with a score of 2-0. Horton missed the first 40 games of the season due to shoulder surgery, but picked off where he left off last season with the Boston Bruins. He got a rebound and scored his 199th career goal in the NHL during the second period of the game.
Horton is definitely pleased with the way things have been going lately, aside from missing the first 40 games of the season. From the Associated Press,
“You can tell we’re a good team when we play hard,” Horton said. “I really enjoyed being out there with the guys.”
Horton hopes to make an imediate impact for his new team as they are starting the new year pretty strong. There are plenty of games left to play in the regular season, and Horton hopes to be a part of most of those.
