Marshon Lattimore (Cleveland, Ohio. Glenville) is the second player from his high school to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl today from San Antonio joining Erick Smith who committed earlier in the day.
The 6-0, 175-pound Lattimore is a four-star recruit ranked as the No. 36 player overall, No. 5 cornerback and the top player in the Buckeye State according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Lattimore should provide an instant impact for the Ohio State secondary which was much-maligned in 2013 and just gave up 376 passing yards and five touchdowns to Clemson Tiger’s quarterback Tajh Boyd in the Orange Bowl.
The additions of Lattimore and Smith to this year’s class coupled with highly-regarded secondary commitments from last year’s class including Vonn Bell, Eli Apple and Cameron Burrows should ensure that the Buckeyes pass defense is trending upward.
Lattimore was recruited to Columbus by Stan Drayton and Kerry Combs and took his official visit to Ohio State the weekend of Dec. 13 and also said he will try to play some wide receiver as well for the Buckeyes.
