Dallas Mavericks star in Anchorman parody (Video)

I’m not sure who’s behind the Dallas Mavericks marketing department, but I’m pretty sure it’s a movie buff.

The Mavericks tend to do a lot of promotion via video and many times they’re spoofs of films, like their most recent promo which features a handful of Mavericks stars staring in an Anchorman parody.

Doing his best Ron Burgundy, Dirk Nowitzki takes on the role of the lead character while his teammates fill out the void as the rest of the newscast.

Included in the bit are Vince Carter, Samuel Dalembert, Jose Calderon, Monta Ellis and Shawn Marion – all of whom have their best 70′s mustache in place.

There’s not much more to the parody other than the guys dressing up and introducing themselves, but it’s still a a relatively solid spoof in comparison to fellow NBA teams – many of whom seem to struggle with entertaining marketing departments.

Also – I think Monta Ellis may have a future outside of the NBA, if he ever so inclines. No, not as an actor but as a Charles Barkley impersonator.
