Jonathan Papelbon says Phillies have more talent than any other team

It appears Philadelphia Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon may be attempting to get back into the good graces of his franchise.

Papelbon, a subject of heavy trade rumors recently spoke to the media about such and gave a glowing review of his team, suggesting they were the most talented in Major League Baseball:

“On our team, I honestly believe we have more talent than any other roster out there. But if you don’t take that talent and mesh it together, figure out each others’ little pros and cons and figure out how to make a 25-man roster form into one, nothing will work.

Now in fairness to Papelbon, he did drop in the caveat that they weren’t the best team, just the most talented.

But of course, he’d be wrong either way.

Make no mistake, the Phillies were a more talented team than their record lead on last season, but they weren’t more talented than teams like the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, etc.

Good effort though, Jonathan.
