Bob Stoops not scheduled to interview with Browns

There have been various links between Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops and various coaching vacancies in the NFL. Stoops had addressed rumors during his appearance on Dan Patrick’s national radio show.

“That’s something you never know will come your way,” he said. “In life, things change from year to year and time to time, and right now I love what I’m doing and the people I work with at Oklahoma. So right now, it’s not something I’m looking to pursue, but you never know down the road.”

One of the teams reportedly pursuing Stoops is the Cleveland Browns. Stoops is a native of Ohio. As of now, Stoops isn’t scheduled to interview with the Browns according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Cabot writes:

Reports that the Browns will interview Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops for their head coach job are false, a league source told cleveland.com.

The club has no plans to talk to Stoops, but did interview McDaniels Saturday in New England.

Cabot went on to write that New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, also an Ohio native, is at the top of the Browns’ list.
