Luke Fischer, a former Indiana Hoosier who decided he wanted to transfer just last week, has already chosen a new destination. Ficher announced today that he will be going to play for Marquette.
As per NCAA transfer rules, Fischer isn’t allowed to officially play with the team until the middle of the 2014-15 college basketball season.
More from ESPN,
“Marquette allows me to be closer to home while playing at the highest level for a great academic institution,” he said in a follow-up tweet.
Fischer was Mr. Basketball in the state and a top-100 recruit for Tom Crean and the Hoosiers but missed much of the preseason with a shoulder injury and played sparingly this season.
Fischer averaged 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 13 games. Crean opted to use fellow freshmanNoah Vonleh in the middle, which resulted in limited minutes for Fischer and sophomore Hanner Mosquera-Perea.
Do you think Buzz Williams and the Marquette Golden Eagles are the best fit for Fischer, or will his decision hurt him more than help him? Leave a comment below.
