The Detroit Lions interviewed Jim Caldwell for their head coaching vacancy. According to the Detroit Free Press, Fritz Pollard Alliance chairman John Wooten said today that the group to interview him included quarterback Matthew Stafford and Lions vice chairman Bill Ford Jr.

Wooten said that Caldwell broke down film with Stafford on his throws and plays.

“You’ve just got to give modern technology credit,” Wooten said. “(Caldwell) had seen every single throw that Stafford made in 2013. He looked at every single one of them and was able to sit with Matt and tell him what he thought the throws and the problems, and the flaw of the throw and what you need to do, what drills we’ll work on to correct it. That’s Jim Caldwell.”

He even suggested drills for Stafford to work on to correct his mistakes. Caldwell of course famously worked with Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning while with the Indianapolis Colts.
