The Los Angeles Lakers attempted to engaged themselves in trade discussions with the Orlando Magic earlier this week in an effort to acquire veteran forward, Hedo Turkoglu.
No move was made however as the two sides were unable to find a mutual ground and the Magic decided to waive Turkoglu.
Now Los Angeles is expected to potentially make a move on Turkoglu once he clears waivers, this according to Hoopsworld’s Alex Kennedy:
The Los Angeles Lakers could emerge as a suitor for unrestricted free agent Hedo Turkoglu, who was waived by the Orlando Magic on Friday. The Lakers reportedly reached out to the Magic to inquire about Turkoglu prior to his release and they may be interested in signing the 34-year-old veteran once he clears waivers.
The Lakers nor any other NBA team will put in a waiver claim on Turkoglu considering they’d be forced to pickup the remaining portion of his lucrative contract, so it’ll simply be a bidding war for his services once he clears waivers in the coming days.
