The New Orleans Saints escaped their Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday night with a last second field goal, but not all of the postgame news was festive.

According to Mike Garafolo, the Saints believe linebacker Parys Haralson may have suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the victory:

"Saints LB Parys Haralson suffered what the Saints believe is a torn pectoral muscle, per source. Tests coming to confirm extent of injury."

It’s a tough blow to the Saints’ solid defense as Haralson has been starting for portions of the season and has been a very effective linebacker in the process.

Assuming the results come back as the Saints expect them to, Haralson’s season is over as there’s no way he’d be able to return, even if the Saints advanced to the Super Bowl. It’s a similar injury to what Haralson experienced during his rookie season with the San Francisco 49ers.

The Saints will travel to Seattle where they’ll take on the Seahawks in a divisional round matchup on Saturday.
