The San Diego Chargers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Wild Card round and have advanced to the Divisional Round we’re they’ll meet a familiar foe, the Denver Broncos. The two AFC West teams will fight it out for a spot in the AFC Conference Championship game.

Whether they have running back Ryan Mathews is still up in the air. Mathews has been battling an ankle sprain for the last few weeks and it even caused him to sit out the majority of the second half this past weekend. Mathews is still focused on playing on Sunday.

“My mindset is I’m playing,” said Mathews, via Union-Tribune San Diego. “We keep fighting. Coach (Mike) McCoy says it all the time. It’s the next man up. We’re all ready.”

Mathews ran 13 times for 52 yards and a 4 yard per carry average. His injury gave Ronnie Brown some significant playing time. He rushed eight times for 77 yards and a touchdown. The score came on a big 58-yard run.
