In 2013, the college football world was introduced to a new crop of superstars with some outstanding freshman performances from players around the country, and those players are highlighted with Monday’s announcement of the 2013 FWAA Freshman All-America Team.

Florida State Seminoles QB Jameis Winston is the star of the offensive side of the ball, leading the ‘Noles to and undefeated record and an appearance in the BCS National Championship Game. Oh yeah, and he also captured that coveted prize called the Heisman Trophy in his first season on the field in Tallahassee.

On the defensive side of the ball, the name that stands out is UCLA linebacker Myles Jack, who didn’t have a lot of time to rest this year as he was also thrust onto the offensive side of the ball by head coach Jim Mora at running back, where he dominated as well with a couple 100-yard games.
