Buster Olney of ESPN (@Buster_ESPN) reports that the Baltimore Orioles are among the teams interested in Free Agent starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo. As with all “interested parties,” contract terms such as dollars and years are a factor.
Arroyo, who will be entering his age-37 season, put up a 14-12 record with a 3.79 ERA in 32 games with the Cincinnati Reds last season. The right-hander with the unique delivery is known as a durable and reliable pitcher, consistently pitching at least 30 starts and hovering around 200 innings in each of his last nine seasons.
Although he is not tied to draft-pick compensation, since the Reds did not offer him a qualifying offer, his asking price has been rumored to drive some teams in a different direction.
The Orioles’ rotation possibilities at this point are Wei-Yin Chen, Miguel Gonzalez, Chris Tillman, Bud Norris, Kevin Gausman, and Dylan Bundy.
