Making it absolutely official, Charlie Strong was officially named the 29th head coach in the history of the University of Texas football program on Monday morning.

After a short wait following the departure of long-time head coach Mack Brown, the Longhorns now officially have their man in the former Louisville head man.

Now for any die hard college football fan out there, we all know what kind of a coach–and man–the Longhorns are getting in the former national championship-winning Florida Gators defensive coordinator.

But to the casual fan, they don’t know much about Strong, including that stat mentioned above about him being one of the best defensive coordinators in the BCS era.

So, the folks over at put together this informative infographic, highlighting exactly what the Texas football program is getting in the Charlie Strong.

Again, Texas is a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately program, but this is still a reason for great optimism for the future of their program in Austin.

Now it’s time to see if he can keep adding to that already impressive resume at one of the premiere programs in the nation.
