Many believe that Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel has already played his final down in College Station. However, he has yet to officially announce whether or not he will be forgoing his final years of eligibility to declare for the 2014 NFL Draft.
While the belief that Manziel will bolt for the NFL remains, Manziel continues to sidestep the questions about his future.
Manziel told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy that he still hasn’t decided on what his decision will be, but he will continue to discuss the matter with his family as he tries to ensure that he makes the best possible decision.
“I want to make the right decision that’s best for me and my family,” Manziel said.
Manziel will have until Jan. 15 to make his official decision, but until then the door will be left open for a potential return to Texas A&M.
While Aggies fans can still have some hope that Johnny Football could return, they shouldn’t hold their breath.
As far as one of Manziel’s teammates is concerned, he’s already out the door.
“Johnny’s gone,” Texas A&M receiver Ricky Seal-Jones said. “He’s gone.”
