The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly in the trade market for a ‘frontcourt help’ so it made some sense they’d have interest in the recently waived Andrew Bynum.
Reports linked the Clippers as potential suitors for Bynum once he clears waivers – even as late as Tuesday morning, but according to Brad Turner, that interest may not be as strong as initially reported:
Hearing Clips are leaning away from trying to sign Andrew Bynum if he’s released by Chicago. Too many issues regarding Bymum from Cleveland
When focused and healthy, Bynum is among the best big men in the league but staying healthy and being a team player has been a struggle for the former Los Angeles Lakers center.
Knowing this, the Clippers – who seemingly have an impressive team chemistry – may not want to rock the boat, especially after rumors denouncing Bynum as a poor teammate in Cleveland have leaked.
It was no sure thing Bynum would even sign with the Clippers if the interest was there, though they were thought to be among the favorites with the Miami Heat.
