The Chicago Bulls are expected to waive Andrew Bynum on Tuesday, just hours after acquiring the big man for salary relief.
The release will place Bynum on waivers and while no team is expected to claim him, it is expected there will be a bidding war for his services once he clears the process.
We’ve heard in recent days that the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers were interested in the injury prone center, but according to ESPN, so are the New York Knicks:
The Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and New York Knicks are among the teams expected to consider offering him a landing spot.
When Bynum is healthy and motivated, he’s proven to be one of the best centers in the league. But of course, he’s not healthy very often and he’s known to have a piss-poor attitude, so it’s questionable as to what type of impact he’ll be able to make when he signs with a new team.
It’s unlikely the Knicks would be suitors, despite their interest, as Bynum will be looking to play for a contender.
