Oklahoma State wide receiver Josh Stewart has announced that he will declare for the NFL Draft. The 5’10″ 185lb junior has experience as a receiver but also returning punts. Stewart caught 60 passes for 707 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, but really shined on punt returns where averaged 16.73 yards on 22 returns including 2 touchdowns.
From a receiving standpoint, Stewart’s best season was as a sophomore where he had 101 receptions, 1,210 yards and 7 touchdowns. The Denton, Texas native was named 1st Team All-Big XII for his efforts. Stewart has shown he can make plays catching the football, but he could certainly be an attractive option for teams looking for a dynamic punt returner.
Stewart makes the 17th underclassmen wide receiver that has declared for this year’s draft. 29 receivers were drafted all of last year total. The underclassmen deadline is January 15th. Players who have not signed an agent have the option to pull their name out and return to college.
