LeBron James exploded for 32 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals to lead the Miami Heat to a 107-88 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday night at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.
Dwyane Wade added 22 points, eight assists and eight rebounds, Chris Anderson had 15 points on a perfect seven-of-seven shooting from the field and grabbed seven rebounds, Chris Bosh had 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists and Ray Allen had 11 points.
The Pelicans, who lost their leading scorer, power forward Ryan Anderson, to a herniated disc, were led by Anthony Davis, who finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Eric Gordon scored 15 points, Tyreke Evans had 13 and Brian Roberts finished with 10.
Things looked good for the Pelicans throughout the first half and they took a 54-43 lead on a Davis jumper at the 10:37 mark in the third quarter. That’s when the Heat took over, outscoring the Pelicans 64-34 for the rest of the game.
The Heat are now 27-8 while the Pelicans are 15-18.
