The New Orleans Pelicans got some bad news on Tuesday morning after being informed that forward Ryan Anderson is out indefinitely with a herniated disc, this according to Pelicans.com:
In a season that has already been filled with adversity due to injuries, the New Orleans Pelicans learned Tuesday that they will be without their leading scorer indefinitely with a herniated disc.
Anderson was hit from behind by Boston Celitcs forward Gerald Wallace and needed to be removed from the game via stretcher.
The Sacramento native was taken to the hospital immediately after leaving the arena where he spent the past few days undergoing a multitude of tests.
Doctors eventually realized Anderson had suffered a herniated disc and now will be out for a considerable amount of time.
Currently, the Pelicans have not put a time table on Anderson’s return as more often than not, players simply are forced to wait around until the disc is healed and there’s no set time period for the healing process to take place.
