Now that the Texas Longhorns have their head coach in place in Louisville’s Charlie Strong, the questions then switched to who would comprise the staff surrounding him in Austin. Strong briefly addressed this subject in his introductory press conference on Monday, saying that he would like to have some people with Texas ties along with him.

Well, Strong apparently killed two birds with one stone in that department as it’s being reported that he will indeed bring along his defensive coordinator along with him from Louisville, Vance Bedford, who just so happened to have played his collegiate ball for the Longhorns as a defensive back from 1977-81.

Bedford followed Strong to Louisville back in 2010 where he was the defensive backs coach, while Charlie was the defensive coordinator under Urban Meyer during the Gators’ championship runs.
