The UFC’s year-end show on December 28 was billed as one of the biggest events in the promotion’s history and it has certainly delivered. Now that the final numbers are in from UFC 168, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., we know that the event brought in a whopping 14,574.
With the more than 14,500 people in attendance, UFC 168 recorded a live gate of $6.2 million.
Those numbers make UFC 168 the second biggest show to ever take place in Las Vegas, just behind UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II, which brought in an attendance of 15,104 and a live gate of $6.9 million.
UFC 168 was headlined by a rematch between Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title and also featured a UFC women’s bantamweight clash between champ Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate in the co-main event.
With a strong finish to the year, the UFC is hoping to build off of the momentum and put together a great 2014.
