The loss in the BCS National Championship game is still in the mind of Auburn Tigers running back Tre Mason and his emotions are running high. Because of that, Mason is still taking time before announcing his decision on whether or not to declare for the 2014 NFL Draft.
Mason wants to make sure he makes the right decision and he will have until the Jan. 15 deadline to make his decision.
“Emotions are everywhere right now. That’s not really what’s going through my head right now,” he said, via the Ledger-Enquirer. “Right now I just feel like I let the whole Auburn family down by not finishing. That decision will probably come later on, but right now I’m not thinking of that.”
Underclassmen running backs often enter the draft while their bodies are still fresh, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Mason decided to make the leap to the NFL.
Of course, the loss could leave a poor taste in his mouth and he may ultimately may decide to return to Auburn to take care of some unfinished business. We will have to wait and see.
