Vanderbilt Commodores head coach James Franklin is one of the hottest names in the world of coaching.
The Penn State Nittany Lions, who are looking to replace Bill O’Brien after he left Penn State to become head coach of the Houston Texas, and the Washington Redskins, who fired Mike Shanahan, are both reportedly interested in hiring Franklin.
In fact, Dan Wolken of The USA Today reported that Franklin would likely take the Penn State job if it is offered to him.
In three years as the Commodores’ head coach, Franklin has posted a record of 24-15, 11-13 in the SEC and has been to a bowl game in each season.
At least one prominent Vanderbilt alumni is trying to keep Franklin from leaving.

Free golf lessons is a pretty tempting offer.
However, if a top program comes calling and finally offers Franklin a job, he will quickly move on.
