Jeff Van Gundy’s odd interview with Spurs’ Gregg Popovich ends with a hug (Video)

NBA analyst for ESPN Jeff Van Gundy is having an interesting night. First we learned that Van Gundy is still rocking a flip phone, which is odd but not all that unusual.

Then he had this weird end of the quarter interview with Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. His reputation for being a tough interview is kind of the theme of Van Gundy’s interview with him. I don’t think Popovich actually says a word in the whole clip.

I think it is all just Van Gundy rambling about how nervous he is to interview him and he tells an odd story about asking other reporters for advice. Clearly this is an attempt at humor because Van Gundy isn’t nervous interviewing Popovich.

Then the brief interaction ends and Popovich gives Van Gundy a hug. Probably because he is grateful he didn’t have to say a word or answer a stupid question.
