Manchester City dominate West Ham United, Edin Dzeko says squad confident

Manchester City dominated West Ham United in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final match up. City won the game 6-0, with a hat-trick from Alvaro Negredo and two goals from Edin Dzeko.

“It’s not easy to win 5-0 at home against another Premier League team,” Dzeko said, via Sky Sports.

He knows they still have the second leg on the road ahead of them, but maintain that they’re full of confidence. As they should be coming off a 6-0 win.

“We still have to play away and this 5-0 – or 6-0, in the end – will give us the confidence for the second leg. The first goal is always important, then maybe we can open them up because they were defending with eight, nine players always.

“The first goal was also spectacular from Alvaro.”

The second leg will take place later in January in roughly two weeks. That game will take place at the Boleyn Grounds in London.
