Penn State is going to interview San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman according to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports.  Roman is still helping guide the 49ers offense as they try to win a Super Bowl, so that interview might wait until their playoff run has ended.  The Nittany Lions have also been linked to former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak and Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin.

In the case of Franklin, there were reports that Penn State was going to offer Franklin the job.  It is not clear if this interview had been arranged before that happened or if this interview has been scheduled in response to a development with that situation.

Roman has been a popular coordinator that has been expected to get an NFL head coaching job the past few years.  He has been asked to interview at a few this year as well.  Penn State has been extremely aggressive and gone after big names in trying to fill this position.
