As most of you are probably aware, this year’s Consumer Electronic Show is well underway in Las Vegas. This show is far more than your average tradeshow. It is a who’s who in the world of cutting edge technology with some of the world’s most innovative products coming together along with the influential people in shaping technology policy. What better place to debut something like RoboCop.

In this faux video released by Sony Pictures, it shows a representative from OmniCorp making the Keynote Presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2027. Of course, they debut their latest venture, the RC2000 Project, also known as RoboCop.

The presenter goes on to speak of the advantages of the product, and how never before have machine and morality been combined into one, and explains the benefits this could have for not only the police and the military, but consumers in their everyday lives.

Here is a look at the video released by Sony Pictures.

RoboCop stars The Killing’s Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy, who will eventually become RoboCop. Detective Murphy leads a pretty normal life; a wife, a child, and a job he loves; however, that all changes one night when he is involved in a terrible explosion that brings him to the brink of death.

Multinational conglomerate OmniCorp, who is a the center of robot technology, sees this as their opportunity to embark on their most advantageous project yet; the RC2000 Project, which will combine the might and technology of a machine with the morality and decision making process of a human.

Despite OmniCorp’s less than noble intentions behind the project, they failed to consider one thing; inside of all that metal and wiring is a person; a police officer whose main mission is the pursuit of justice.

The film stars Joel Kinnaman, Sucker Punch’s Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Jackie Earle Haley, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and more.

RoboCop is scheduled to be released on February 12, 2014.
