After losing starting center Tiago Splitter for three to five weeks to a shoulder sprain, the Spurs were dealt another blow on Wednesday.
Sixth man Manu Ginobili won’t play in Wednesday’s contest against the Dallas Mavericks, according to the Associated Press.
Spurs guard Manu Ginobili missed San Antonio’s game Wednesday night against the Dallas Mavericks because of tightness in his left hamstring.
Ginobili was a late scratch for San Antonio (27-8)…
Of course, this doesn’t mean Ginobili has a severe injury. Greg Popovich has a history of resting his star players, giving them nights off and sitting players who have minor injuries and could probably play.
On the season, Ginobili is averaging 12.5 points, 4.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 24.1 minutes per game. He’s shooting 46.6% from the field, 35.9% from beyond the arc and 88.6% from the charity stripe.
Ginobili is also one day removed from hitting a game-winning driving layup in overtime as the Spurs defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 110-108 Tuesday.
Shawn Marion (shoulder) is out for the Mavericks.
