Today’s uber-competitive sporting atmosphere is constantly searching for the next big thing and more often than not that is more frequent in basketball where middle school kids are ranked by recruiting services and scholarships are handed down to kids who have yet to drive a car.

Well, the next big thing in basketball very well could be fourth grader and nine-year-old phenom point guard Jaden Newman who plays for Downey Christian School in Orlando, Florida.

Here are her highlights.

Her dad is the head coach and apparently there is some good genes at work because Jaden’s older brother, a sixth grader is starring for the boy’s high school team.

Jaden is posting 14.8 points and 7.5 assists per game for the girls varsity team while her older brother Julian is averaging 16.7 points and 9.6 assists per game this season, according to MaxPreps, and here are his highlights.

If the highlights of Jaden and Julian at this age is any indication of what they will look like when they are actually high school aged competing against kids their own age, perhaps this is the next coming of the best brother-sister pairing of basketball siblings, Cheryl and Reggie Miller.
