Arizona Wildcats at UCLA Bruins final score: Wildcats beat Bruins 79-75

The No. 1 Arizona Wildcats defeated the UCLA Bruins 79-75 at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, CA.  The Wildcats remain undefeated at 16-0 (3-0 conference), and the Bruins fell to 12-3 (1-1).

The Wildcats looked as if they were headed for a double digit victory after a Nick Johnson dunk put the Wildcats ahead 68-55 with 6:18 to go.  However, the Bruins fought back with a 13-0 run to tie the game at 68 with 2:21 left.

UCLA took a one-point lead after Bryce Alford hit two free throws, and the crowd at Pauley Pavilion was rocking.

Amidst the excitement, the Wildcats played like the number one team in the nation, hitting eight of ten free throws over the final minute to win 79-75.

Arizona top performers: Nick Johnson scored a game-high 22 points along with four rebounds and two assists.  Kaleb Tarczewski netted 16 points and grabbed eight boards.  Gabe York scored 12 points, and Aaron Gordon added 10 points and six rebounds.  Brandon Ashley finished with nine points and three rebounds.

UCLA top performers: Kyle Anderson led the Bruins with 16 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two blocks.  The sophomore from New Jersey does everything.  Jordan Adams netted 12 points, grabbed 11 boards, dropped three dimes, and stole the ball three times.  Bryce Alford added 12 points, and Tony Parker finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Next game: Arizona plays at USC on Sunday at 9 pm ET.  UCLA plays Arizona State on Sunday at 10 pm ET.
