After helping lead the Auburn Tigers to one of the more incredible turnarounds in the history of college football, running back Tre Mason has announced that he will bypass his last year on the Plains and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

Mason was the key cog in Gus Malzhan’s offense in 2013 as he rushed for 1,816 yards on 317 carries with 23 touchdowns. In the victory over Missouri in the SEC Championship Game, Mason shattered the game’s rushing record as he torched the Tigers for 304 yards on 46 carries with four touchdowns.

That put Auburn into the BCS National Championship Game against one of the best defenses in the nation in the Florida State Seminoles, where Mason put on yet another show, gashing the ‘Noles for 195 yards on 34 carries with a touchdown in the team’s down-to-the-wire loss.

To add to all of the accomplishments that he grabbed in 2013, Mason also landed himself a trip to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
