Jim Mora, Jr. and his UCLA Bruins landed another big commitment on Thursday.

According to Justin Hopkins of 24/7 Sports, strong-side defensive end Matt Dickerson has committed to UCLA.

Big news out of Westwood today with the decision of San Mateo (Calif.) Juniperro Serra defensive lineman Matt Dickerson switching from Notre Dame to UCLA.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound prep committed to Notre Dame back in August after an unofficial visit. The Bruins never backed off and it paid off today with the verbal from the 247Sports Composite four-star.

Obviously location played a big part in Dickerson’s decision. Rather than sticking with his original choice and heading to South Bend, Indiana, he stayed closer to home and chose the Bruins. Dickerson attends Junipero Serra in San Mateo, California.

Dickerson is not ranked in the 24/7 Sports top 247, but according to their composite rankings, he is the 310th best player in the class of 2014. He is considered the 26th best defensive tackle (although many view him as an end) and the 35th-best player in the talent rich state of California.
