I wrote just a little while ago that veteran infielder Jamey Carroll was weighing his options between the Cleveland Indians and the Washington Nationals.

I’m proud to report that the wait is finally over! According to Chris Cotillo on Twitter, Carroll will be returning to the Washington Nationals, who at one time were the called the ‘Montreal Expos’.

FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal confirmed that the deal between Jamey Carroll and the Washington Nationals was a minor league contract. Which will obviously include an invitation to Spring Training. He’s a great defender.

He shouldn’t have trouble cracking the Opening Day roster and providing the Washington Nationals some infield depth. Carroll hit .211/.267/.251 between the the Minnesota Twins and the Kansas City Royals.

So what do you think Nationals fans? Do you like the idea of your team spending money on a soon to be 40 year old Jamey Carroll?
