The Crimson Tide will have a new offensive coordinator for the 2014 season and it’s likely to be Lane Kiffin, this according to FOX Sports.
Reports leaked a few days back that Alabama had invited Kiffin to interview for the offensive coordinator position and it’s being reported Alabama has now offered him the job:
#Alabama is close to finalizing a deal to make Lane Kiffin offensive coordinator.
It’s a step down for Kiffin, who most recently served as USC’s head coach. Of course, given his track record he should be pretty happy to have a position with such an elite football program, let alone to be their offensive coordinator.
Many great coaching minds interviewed for the position – including suitors from the NFL – but Kiffin seemed to have the magic touch, which may come as a shock to some.
As of now, no financials have been released.
Kiffin, who enjoys running a pro-style offense should match up well with Alabama given their desire to play ball control and pound opponents with a physical running game.
