The Detroit Pistons are hoping to turn their fortunes around this season and they’re leaning on their younger players to develop into stars for the team. They’re still a long ways away from that being a consistent case in Detroit, but that hasn’t stopped us from seeing our fair share of bright glimpses in the meantime.
Andre Drummond, for example, has the size and power to be one of the league’s top big men and he showed off how good he can be on Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Not only was Drummond trapped in a one-on-three in the paint against the Sixers, but he managed to not foul and still slap down a dirty block to deny the bucket.
That’s the style of play the Pistons love and it’s those types of plays that will get Drummond and the Pistons noticed more often around the NBA. He’s still a budding star, but these glimpses of greatness are nice to see out of a Pistons team that just needs to get good.
