The Los Angeles Dodgers were less than thrilled with outfielder Yasiel Puig being pulled over for the second time in less than a year for speeding. But alas, after a stern talking to, the Dodgers suggested there wasn’t much more they could do outside of helping Puig when he asked.
The notion of giving Puig a ‘chaperone’ was laughed off, though, he will at least have somebody to drive him places after he decided to stop getting behind the wheel.
Puig says his cousin will drive him around now:
Los Angeles Dodgers president Stan Kasten said he spoke with Puig on Thursday, and the 23-year-old outfielder told him he has hired a cousin to drive him around for the time being. “I give him credit for taking that step if nothing else,” Kasten said during a radio appearance on ESPNLA 710.
It’s probably going a bit too far considering Puig’s issue wasn’t driving itself, rather driving too fast. One would assume Puig could contain his inner-speed demon and not hammer the pedal into the ground, but maybe he doesn’t trust himself.
