Auburn Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn confirmed Friday that Kiehl Frazier will be transferring from the program in order to seek more playing time at another school.
Frazier began his college career as a quarterback, but he was moved to safety during preseason camp last August. However, Frazier only played one possession at safety — during the final minutes of a blowout win over Arkansas State — and was then moved to wide receiver.
According to Malzahn, Frazier wants to transfer to a school where he can once again play quarterback:
He’s always been nothing but a winner with his attitude. We’ve talked through the year. He just felt like at this time that he wanted to go somewhere and play quarterback. We wish him nothing but the best. He’ll do well (AL.com).
Frazier was listed as a four-star quarterback prospect when he came out of high school and was ranked as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in the country.
