Miami Hurricanes linebacker Denzel Perryman has opted to return for his senior year. The Canes’ impressive linebacker has impressive measurables for the NFL and another year should allow him to polish his game and join an impressive lineage of linebackers from Coral Gables at the next level. This also means that Miami is not losing a single underclassmen to the NFL Draft this year, which is good news for fans and head coach Al Golden.
Golden has been extremely conservative with pronouncing that Miami is back and had maintained that it would not be this season, even when they had an undefeated season going and a top 10 ranking. That ultimately proved to be a smart move as the Hurricanes fell flat at the end of the year including an overwhelming loss to Louisville in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
Now, with players like Perryman coming back, the Hurricanes could be ready to make their triumphant return to fighting for a top spot in the ACC as well as fighting for a top spot in the state of Florida.
