Rebel Wilson Joins the Cast of ‘Night at the Museum 3’

With her new series Super Fun Night still going strong, Rebel Wilson is getting ready to make her return to the big screen. Deadline is reporting that the actress is set to join the cast of Night at the Museum 3.

There are not a lot of details about her role in the film right now, but it is known that she will portray a night guard at the British museum where all the action is set to take place this time around. There is always the possibility that her role may follow the lines of Jonah Hill’s character in Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian.

However, there is still the possibility of a bigger role in it for her. At this point and time, they are being pretty tight lipped about any plot details.

Shawn Levy, who directed the first two Night at the Museum films, will be returning to direct Night at the Museum 3. Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, who developed characters and wrote the script for the first two films, will be returning to pen the third installment along with Dinner of Schmucks writers David Guion and Michael Handelman.

Wilson, who is best known for her roles in the films Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids will be joining Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, and Ricky Gervais, who will all be returning to their previous roles in the new film.

Night at the Museum 3 is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2014.
