Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney’s name has been linked to Chelsea for a while. They made two bids for Rooney this summer, both of which were turned down. There were some reports that Chelsea could pursue Rooney again and manager Jose Mourinho was asked about it again.
“I don’t want to speak about it,” Mourinho said, via Sky Sports. “We play Man United in a few days. I don’t think it’s nice to speak about a Man United player.
“You have to ask him (Rooney). You have to ask the player. And Man United because Man United has a contract with the player that doesn’t end at the end of the season.”
Chelsea and Manchester United play on January 19th. Currently, Rooney is away recovering from an injury to his groin.
“His groin hasn’t quite recovered. He’s away with his family and the coach. Hopefully we can get him fit to face Chelsea,” United boss David Moyes said,
