UFC releases statement on Matt Brown comments

UFC fighter Matt Brown raised some eyebrows on Thursday, when he had some interesting things to say about women fighting in mixed martial arts. On the debut episode of his new podcast, Brown said that he is not interested in women fighting in the UFC and that they should be fighting topless.

Well, the comments made their way back to the UFC and they began damage control after issuing a statement on the matter.

“Matt Brown has apologized for the comments made on his podcast, and we have addressed the matter with him,” the UFC said in the statement. “His comments don’t reflect the views of the UFC. There’s no place for discrimination within our organization at any level. The UFC is built on principles of respect, and any statements to the contrary are not acceptable.”

Brown also apologized for the comments, so you can consider the matter squashed.

You can just be sure that Brown will be thinking twice whenever he speaks on the next episode of his podcast, if that will even continue.
